ABOUT JOHN

John is from Hawai’i where Lomi Lomi or massage is considered a unique healing method derived from the ancient Polynesians who believed people needed to be returned to balance and harmony for overall health. It was common for his large family to gather on the family hiki e’e, a large Hawaiian couch, to massage one another.

The “spirit of aloha” is a way of life and the secret to well being for the people of Hawai’i. It is an inner knowledge to be loving and genuine in all interactions with people and nature, for all life is connected. It was this foundation that sparked John’s interest in the value of bodywork to help others with the debilitating effects of living with pain, and he became a Licensed Massage Practitioner (LMP) in 1995.

He also had a keen interest in Ta’i Chi, the dance of health, and became a Sifu (Certified Tai Chi Instructor) through the Chinese Athletic Arts Academy in Honolulu. Tai Chi, like Lomi Lomi, has its roots in the belief that a person living in harmony is more likely to be happy, fulfilled and healthy.

Over the years John has developed a form of bodywork that integrates both of these ancient teachings. His method of Anatomical Alignment has helped thousands of people over the past 21 years to become free of pain, and to re-gain the natural mobility of their body.

John is an avid surfer, snowboarder, and steward of a one-acre garden in the country where he lives with his family, and connects with nature, one of our greatest healers, on a daily basis.
